WEB GEMS- Bot 6th: Melvin Mora robbed Jody Gerut of a base hit.
Rafael Furcal collected 2 extra-base hits as the Enterprise Trekkers defeated
the Santa Fe Trailer Bitches by a score of 6 to 4 at the ballpark.
Santa Fe fell behind quickly as the Enterprise offense came through in the
first inning scoring 4 runners on 6 hits. Santa Fe had a chance in the 9th
but they came up short.
The win went to Wilson Alvarez(1-3) who allowed 3 runs in 7 innings. Alvarez
got relief help from Dan Kolb who gained credit for his 6th save. Ryan
Drese(4-6) was charged with the loss. He got hit hard, allowing 9 hits and 2
walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
Scott Leitner was in a talkative mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If only
we could win all of the close ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not
going to happen, I think I'll savor this one for a little while.'
